HOMESTEAD SKALKA
Homestead Skalka is a reconstruction project of a national cultural monument. The new buildings serve as permanent residential housing. The complex consists of four buildings - the original historical building with an extension and three newly designed buildings.
The proposed solution is based on the genius loci of the original site and tries to evoke the volumetric relations of agricultural farms typical for the surrounding environment of Prague 5 by its spatial configuratio that follows the footsteps of the original buildings. The positioning of the newly designed buildings creates a residence yard, which is typical for the original farmhouse.
